Hi all! I thought last wednesdays talk on emerging careers was insightful and very pertinent. Kudos to Mr. Dominic Osei of Zain for availing himself to give us such a wonderful talk. In essence, here are some points for us all to remember from the presentation:
i. We can all enjoy career progression and job satisfaction not by fixing our weakness, but by capitalizing on our strenghts. So, example, if your strenght is organisation, take the opportunity to exhibit it by taking charge of events at work, workshops etc. You will get noticed and be rewarded for it.
ii. He also mentioned that some of the emerging career areas will be the following:
a. Retail
b. Pharma; especially in the area of hospital administration
c. Consulting
d. Real estate and infrastructure development
e. Customer service
He put a real emphasis on customer service as the career of the future, because essentially, that is what will differentiate the services of companies that provide like services.
So people, now you know!! Hit the books and schools and start developing yourselves for as the saying goes... A stitch in time, saves nine.
