The cocktail was, by all accounts, a success a,d you chaps should enable to keep the trend going. I had some concerns. The sound was aatrocious. I have a friend who normally spinhs for the Rotarians, Sammy Osei, and can be reached on 0244 369 175. He's good, reliable and very professional. If any of you had shown up for the barbecue yesterday, you would haveseen what I am talking about. My other concern waas the appearnce of chairs when it was a cocktail. I asked what teh problem was, and was told it was Delphine's initiative. In as much as you guys owe her a debtb of gratitude to the club, you cannot have two captains on a ship. The cocktail theme was agreed upon by consensus, so I find it troubling that the script was flipped. It's not fair, and it totally rubbishes the efforts made by the other5s involved. I know for a fact that she wouldn't have taken kindly to that kind of decision-making behind her back on her watch. Rot. Oscar felt very aggrieved and shortchanged. I had to calm him down at the cocktail, as he was quite literally jumping out of his skin. I understand it will be addressed at board level, so the sooner this is squashed, the better. Otherwise there will be bad blood between those involved, and it's very unhealthy to be experiencing feelings of animosity over a long period. An example as to why the cocktail theme would have been be3tter was a situation I experienced with Millicent, your guest. As soon as she got in and eyed a chair, she sat there, and did not get up until the program was over. That's the very kind of scenario I believe you chaps wanted to avoid. With the absence of chairs, we would alll have had to BOND amnd make new friends. So, in that respect, things were considerably toned down. But kudos to all involved in the planning, and especiall, Rotaractors Martison,Beatrice, Dzifa, David and Baby Tagor. They were very instrumental in keeping things very lively. The important thing is that about two0 thirs of the target was realised, and with some creative thinking, the shortfall can be made up in the shotest possible time. Good luck to you all, and congratultions once again.
